Welcome Patricia, to Boxingrepublic.com,
Mario Cabrera, Jr: Tell us about your team, Who is your manager, trainer and do you have a promoter?
Patricia Alcivar: I am really blessed and grateful to be trained by former Women’s World Champion, Terri “The Boss” Moss from Decatur Boxing in Georgia. It is roughly about a 3.5 hr drive from my current home in Asheville, North Carolina, but I always rise to the challenges. I currently have some things in the works on promotional and managerial contracts that are still under negotiation.

Mario Cabrera, Jr: What made you get into Boxing?
Patricia Alcivar: For as long as I can remember, I have always loved sports and being athletic. I had a pretty tough upbringing & being active was always a healthy outlet both physically & mentally and it helped keep me focused and on the right path. I love sports that challenge me & the minute I met my first & only trainer as an amateur, Martin Snow, I knew I had met my challenge. Boxing demanded the most of me and brought out the best in me as well. As a professional boxer, the requirements are much more, but it is something I am looking forward to.
Mario Cabrera, Jr: When did you start Boxing & have you sparred with any top or ranked contenders?
Patricia Alcivar: I started boxing in NYC in 1996 and won 2 NYC Golden Gloves, National Title, the Metro/Empire State Games, and an International Title. I trained in Gleason’s Gym & Trinity Boxing, so I have definitely sparred with some great contenders and world champions.
Mario Cabrera, Jr: What weight class are you fighting at?..and where do you fight out of? Gym? City?
Patricia Alcivar: Ever since I started boxing, I have always fought in the bantamweight class at 118/119, however as a professional, I am looking to fight between 114-118. I currently train out of Asheville, North Carolina at Young Guns Boxing & Atlanta, Georgia at the Decatur Boxing Gym spending most of my time training under the guidance of Terri Moss.
Mario Cabrera, Jr: Who was your favorite boxer growing up that you followed??
Patricia Alcivar: My favorite boxer growing up was Marco Antonio Barrera. I loved watching his crisp & fast combination’s. However, I loved watching the classic boxing of Sugar Ray Leaonard.
Mario Cabrera, Jr: What can you tell us about your Pro Debut fight and your expectations on it?
Patricia Alcivar: I had an amazing professional debut. I think I was tailored made for the pros and I can’t believe I waited so long. The transition from the amateurs to the pros was extra smooth. Terri prepared me very well as she has been there herself and has so much knowledge of the sport. We definitely met our expectation, which was to be focused and strong from the sound of the bell and take no prisoners. We accomplished that and more. Now, we focus on staying active until we are ready for a title fight.
Mario Cabrera, Jr: You are going to be on a tv reality show called Dreamers. How do feel about that also?
Patricia Alcivar: I feel honored and very blessed to be chosen for this reality show. Dreamers is a reality show where people with extraordinary dreams are chosen to be followed in pursuit of their dreams. My dream was to become a professional boxer, but so many obstacles got in the way especially living in North Carolina. Pursuing my dream has been an unbelievable challenge, but one that I was willing to take on. I know being on Dreamers will inspire and motivate many people and that is going to be extremely rewarding as my mission has always been to inspire people with my story.
Thanks again Patricia for talking to us and Good luck on your up & coming fights!!
