Boxing Governing Bodies

The Boxing Republic brings you a list of all the major amateur and professional boxing governing bodies for the sport of boxing. In the amateurs ranks, the Amateur International Boxing Association is the major player controlling all the minor governing bodies.

There are a considerable amount of organizational groups in the professional ranks which make up what most prize fighting insiders refer to as the alphabet soup. In the professional ranks the Ring Magazine as well as the World Boxing Council (WBC), the World Boxing Association (WBA), the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) are the major players with all the other organizational agencies taking a back seat.
