George Foreman is one of boxings greatest Heavyweight champions of all time. Born on the 10th of January, 1949, in Marshal, Texas, USA; George started the sport as a young juvenile delinquent with bad intentions. He loved the hurt game so much that he became a great amateur fighter; so great that he captured an Olympic Gold medal in the 1968 Olympics.

Foreman won the Heavyweight title by smashing ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier in Jamaica. He then defended it multiple times before losing to Muhammad Ali in the famous bout labeled “The Rumble In The Jungle”.

Foreman traded punches with countless great Heavyweight fighters; his resume includes some of the biggest names that boxing has ever known and the majority of them where wins to his credit. Joe Frazier; Muhammad Ali; Ken Norton; Ron Lyle; Dwight Muhammad Qawi; Gerry Cooney; Evander Holyfield; Jimmy Ellis; Tommy Morrison and Michael Moorer to name a few.

After the Ali fight, big George took some time off from boxing to find himself again. He ended up finding God in the mix of it all and became a deeply religious man. After a long layoff, George began a comeback that was criticized by many experts. In 1994 he would prove all his critics wrong by regaining the Heavyweight title with a knockout win over Michael Moorer.

He continued boxing for a little while but retired after a controversial loss to Shannon Briggs. George was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004. His after boxing career has seen him do extremely well in the business world as his brand of grills which is named after him has sold worldwide. George is one of the most friendly, happy ex-fighters that the sport of boxing has ever known. Big George is truly a boxing legend.
